How God mixed an unusual combination of experiences, skills, and personality to form a life of ministry

Scott's Mission in Life
Growing up, my mom was a Christian, but my dad wasn’t. She would take me and my brothers to church every Sunday. My dad chose to stay home on Sundays. I learned about the different stories in the Bible, but to me it was just a bunch of stories I learned on Sunday.

When he was 15 years old, he went on his first missions trip to Mexico at a Food for the Hungry camp near Hermosillo, Mexico. During the years that followed he went on missions trips to Ensenada, Mexico at a camp called Rancho Agua Viva. in 1996 he served as part of the summer staff at that same camp. He began serving as a full-time missionary with Agua Viva Ministries (the ministry that runs Rancho Agua Viva) in November of 1998. During his 21 years at Agua Viva he was able to serve God using both his passion for missions, but also his love for technology.
And that takes us to the next topic. . .
Gadgets
Technology is afraid of Scott.
Scott's dad built a home computer before home computers were a "thing". He was always tinkering with electronics.
This environment taught Scott to not be afraid of technology.

Scott grew up playing with computers. He wrote his first program when he was 10 years old (it wasn't anything fancy, but it ran). When he was 17 years old, his dad brought home a box of computer parts that he bought from a computer store right after New Year's. People had returned gifts that they couldn't figure out how to use or install on their computers. He told Scott that the first computer he built from the parts was his. Scott accepted the challenge and built two computers from the parts.
This set him on a path to continue to learn about technology. He used those abilities when he served as a missionary in Mexico for 21 years.
Groans
Jokes so bad, even cows moan and groan
Scott tells the worst jokes known to the human race. Scott's jokes are not accidentally bad. He doesn't do a bad job of telling jokes. Scott does a good job of telling intentionally horrible jokes. If he ever hears a funny joke, he will find a way to ruin it before inflicting it on others.

The evil insane voices in his head tell him awful puns and compel him to repeat the puns to unsuspecting innocent bystanders. Your only warning that Scott may tell you a joke will be that Scott is present with you. If you ever need to know whether or not Scott is telling a joke, just check if his lips are moving. If Scott should ever become a ventriloquist, we are in deep trouble!
